Last week, saw the corporate giants clashing for a mega cricket event aptly named Symbiosis Super Shield “The Battle of the corporates” organized by Symbiosis and sponsored by Vascon, in collaboration with Bajaj Auto and Radio Mirchi.
The weeklong event was a hit among the students and the yuppie crowd who are still reeling under the fever of India's shocking but pleasant win at the 20-20 world cup. The event saw participation from major corporate giants like Indian oil, Bharat petroleum, Air India, Indian Airlines, D.Y Patil, Flame, Reliance, Vascon and even Symbiosis.
But the ultimate booty was won by Air India in a grand finale between them and D.Y Patil. Their captain J.Arun Kumar had a big hand in the victory as he scored a century in the final and for a matter of fact was the only centurion of the tournament. The event also saw ex India player Abey Kuruvilla turning out for D.Y Patil. The closing ceremony was an attraction in itself with BCCI head honcho Sharad Pawar being the chief guest and the ceremony also chose to honor the Ex Maharashtra captains on this occasion.
All said and done, it was a spectacular event and a special mention for the students of Symbiosis BBA students without whose initiative the event would not have been a possibility because everything right from catering to Security to organizing was done by the SCMSUG students.
Three cheers for 20-20 and three cheers for Symbiosis!
Hip-hip-hurray.
