Abbas Mustan - d masters of thrillers have come out with their latest offering- Naqaab (Disguised intentions). The movie was touted to be the biggest thriller of the year, so let’s get to the point.........Does the movie work?? Well, in parts it does. The story is set in Dubai where Bobby Deol plays a rich businessman in love with his paying guest Urvashi Sharma. Akshaye Khanna plays a struggling actor who falls in love with Urvashi at first glance. Thereon, starts a love triangle which leads to one twist after another. The climax is unexpected. But I feel Abbas - Mustan could have done better; after all they have a reputation of making entertaining noir films. The music of the movie is hummable. The song 'Ekdin' is the best song of the movie. Performance wise, Akshaye Khaana as usual dishes out a superb performance. The new lady on the block, Urvashi Sharma is first rate. But the surprise of the movie is Bobby Deol. His acting is first rate and the way his character changes shades in the movie is interesting. The lovers of the thriller genre should lap up this movie but people looking out for a cute, romantic movie will be disappointed. In my opinion, it’s definitely worth a watch. |
